INUA Environment Organic Assets
Environment assets developed for the Capstone game Inua. These assets were modeled in 3DS Max with high resolution normal maps created in Mudbox. The rocks were used as environment filler as well as forming cave walls. Basalt column walls formed this majestic environment while utilizing the stand alone columns of basalt to create structures throughout the game. The Stalagmites marked areas of steam vents as well as creating an immersive cave like atmosphere with water dripping from them to the cave floor below. Earlier in game development the moss was going to be used for the player to burn but it was cut later on in development.

Environment Asset Detail
This is a gallery of the assets used to create the scene. In my file system I organize by priority level with consistent naming convention.
- Above Left: Boulders used to help make up the organic cave walls. Other team members created rock walls and other rocks as well so we would have a nice selection. Textures were created in Mudbox for a high detail normal back and the low resolution was unwrapped and used for the game.
- Above Middle: Basalt Standalone Columns. Used to vary up the environment and walls. These could be rotated and assembled to create large basalt structures. High detail was sculpted in Mudbox for a normal bake the low resolution model was used for the game.
- Above Right: Basalt Walls. Used to create the natural basalt walls in the game. Separately or together they can be assembled to make a variety of scenes.
- Bottom Left: The Basalt Walls pushed together to make a realistic basalt wall with three levels.
- Bottom Middle: Moss version 1 and 2. Was cut from the game but the original concept was that Kaya could set them on fire with her gift to accomplish puzzles. Low poly but detail modeled in Mudbox.
- Bottom Right: Stalactites. Set above the steam vents and cave ceilings to help build the cave. They are low poly with high detail sculpted in Mudbox. The stalactites can be used to create icicles as well.
